First of all, let me apologize for the poor quality photo of this quilt. Keep in mind, though, that this picture was taken with a digital camera in late 2002. The quality of cameras and print outs back then weren’t quite up to today’s standards.
Pumpkins aren’t just for Halloween. You can also use pumpkins to decorate for the fall season or Thanksgiving. Plain pumpkins sometimes just won’t do though, how about jazzing up your pumpkins with fabric or making pumpkins out of fabric?
Many of these fabric pumpkins are simple to make. For some you need to use a little bit of sewing skills but for others there is no sewing required. Some of them use pumpkins (not real ones) as part of the craft and other simple use pumpkins as inspiration.
I know I have skipped around a little bit, but here is my 4th quilt. It is a small wall hanging (approximately 21″ x 24″) made to look like a shelf of mason jars. The pattern I used for the blocks is similar to this tall jar quilt block shared by Janet.
As you can tell by looking at the picture, I made 8 jars out of 8 different floral fabrics. I made a label for each jar by printing an ingredient name (the ingredients that the recipe calls for) on printable fabric. I made the center square to look like a recipe card and on it I printed out a “Recipe for a Happy Day”.
