I designed this quilt pattern for my 4th grandchild – Tatum! She was born in January 2013. At that time, my daughter Katie (Tatum’s mom) was really into yellow and gray so that is how I chose the colors. I chose the design because I had been itching to make a quilt using half-square triangles, plus chevron was just starting to get really popular.

French Roses Quilt
This French Roses Quilt by Heather French was my 21st. I actually bought this quilt kit at Spring quilt retreat in 2004 but didn’t make it until the Fall 2004 retreat.
I had no purpose in mind when I bought this kit. I just fell in love with the fabric pack and the pattern design. I had yet to make a raw edge applique quilt so that enticed me too.

A Collection of Mini Quilts and My Etsy Store
First of all, I wanted to use this post to announce the re-opening of my Etsy store. It has been quite awhile since I have posted anything for sale but that is going to change! I had a lot of fun making these little gems and look forward to making many more.
I have a plastic bin in my craft cupboard that I use to collect extra quilt blocks. Usually, when I am designing my own quilt tops, I make way too make blocks plus some quilt patterns I use leave me with extras… I can’t bear to just toss these so I have been collecting them. Recently I decided to go through this bin and see what I could come up with.

Blake’s Stroller Quilt
When I was initially picking out fabrics for Blake’s baby quilt (before I had decided on the pattern) I was buying pink and green, along with a few purple fabrics that were too adorable. While I used the pink and green fabrics in Blake’s crib-sized baby quilt, I was left not quite knowing what to do with the purples. That is when I came up with the idea for this simple stroller quilt.
