I know I have skipped around a little bit, but here is my 4th quilt. It is a small wall hanging (approximately 21″ x 24″) made to look like a shelf of mason jars. The pattern I used for the blocks is similar to this tall jar quilt block shared by Janet.
As you can tell by looking at the picture, I made 8 jars out of 8 different floral fabrics. I made a label for each jar by printing an ingredient name (the ingredients that the recipe calls for) on printable fabric. I made the center square to look like a recipe card and on it I printed out a “Recipe for a Happy Day”.
The recipe I used in the center of my wall hanging is shared here (below the ad)…
Recipe for a Happy Day
Ingredients:
- Sunshine
- Morning Dew
- Love
- Joy
- Gentleness
- Understanding
- Hugs
- Kisses
Start out with a cup of the sunshine’s promise.
This is marinated in morning dew.
Fold in heaping cups of love and joy.
Spread with gentleness and understanding.
Then sprinkle with hugs and a kiss or two.
When it came to quilting this wall hanging, I stitched in the ditch around each jar and also around each shelf.
What do you think of my #4 quilt?
Where can I find this pattern. I would love to make one.
